Confirming a Cinema Expert certificate
Someone has given you a certificate and you want to know it is real. Send us the reference and we will tell you.
What to send
Email [email protected] with:
- the certificate reference — the long code printed at the foot of every page of the certificate;
- the name on the certificate as you were given it.
We will tell you whether that reference is a certificate we issued, to that person, and which course and date it covers. If it is not, we will say so.
Why there is no lookup page
A page that returned a certificate to anyone who typed a reference would publish a person’s name, and their email address, to whoever happened to hold the code — and certificate codes travel, in emailed PDFs and pasted CVs. Nobody agreed to that when they took a course.
So we do not publish certificates. We answer questions about them. A forged PDF fails just as surely either way: an invented reference does not match anything.
We will not confirm a certificate to someone who does not already have it, and we will not send a list of anybody’s certificates. If you are the holder, your own record is in your account.
What a certificate claims
That the person named completed the course named, on the date given. It is not a qualification, it is not accreditation, and it makes no claim about any room, design or installation. Recognition is CPD.
